LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HOMELAND SECURITY

Fighting crime and protecting the homeland against violence, terrorism, drugs and crime in general has never been more challenging.  Bad guys are more sophisticated.  Crime and acts of terror cross geographic boundaries of domestic jurisdictions and nations.   Cybercrime presents its own unique challenges in terms of enforcement and prosecution.  So, too, does social media.  Information sharing across jurisdictions is essential, and so is the security of information that is shared.  Surveillance technologies, wearables, analytics capabilities that enable artificial intelligence applications, constitute new and effective tools.  Yet there are limits on how these can be used and by whom.  These are among the subjects attendees can expect addressed at EDGE22 and in the informal conversations that occur throughout the EDGE conference experience.

THE FUTURE OF HEALTH CARE

Telehealth is here to stay.  Computer and robotic aided surgeries are becoming commonplace.  The Cloud and 5G, and the consequential computing, analytics and artificial intelligence applications these enable are driving innovation: “Digital twin technology,” connected care across the health care supply chain, wearables, all of these are empowering advances.   To participate in these discussion topics, EDGE22 is inviting relevant and senior leaders from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, HHS, private sector health care practitioners, and some of the most respected names in health care technology innovation.

INNOVATION TO IMPROVE MISSION PERFORMANCE
And Advance Economic Competitiveness

To participate in candid and forward-looking discussions on the most advanced technologies, EDGE22 is inviting senior leadership from DARPA, select national labs, globally recognized research institutions and technology innovators.  Subjects will include the future of artificial intelligence, edge and quantum computing, VR and AR technologies, and the importance of these to mission performance and economic competitiveness.   Participants will be invited to select Executive Roundtables, and to plenary presentations looking to the near-term future.

REDUCING THE HIGH COST OF FRAUD
Through Technology, Analytics and Innovation

Driver’s license fraud, health care fraud, tax refund fraud, mail fraud – there are many forms, and the cost is high: more than $5 trillion annually.  Annual health care fraud in the United States alone exceeds $250 billion.  How can advances in analytics, AI and computing reduce the high cost of fraud, in government benefits especially?   What are the challenges in terms of data access and utilization?  The EDGE22 plenary session will feature an informative presentation on the technologies and opportunities available to government and regulated industries to ensure checks and benefits are directed to only those eligible to receive them.

TECHNOLOGY AND THE NATIONAL DEFENSE STRATEGY

US defense and national security interests can change rapidly as the global political landscape evolves.  Real-time data assimilation and actionable analysis drive decisions vital to the support of US global interests.  Good data must be accompanied by accurate analysisEDGE22 will feature both an Executive Roundtable and plenary presentation on the National Defense Strategy, technologies that support it, and the emergence of non-traditional warfighting capabilities: cyber warfare, data manipulation and social media as examples.

CLOUD, 5G AND CONTINUOUS MODERNIZATION

How do agencies, departments and large enterprises keep pace with technology innovation and the capabilities these enable for improved mission performance and business success?  Cloud and 5G are the “Great Enablers” of emerging and advanced capabilities in edge and quantum computing, artificial intelligence, RPA, virtual and augmented reality.  Keeping pace with rapidly evolving and emerging technologies is hard enough; budgeting for them and incorporating these capabilities into legacy environments with complex and overlapping contracts adds additional complications.

MISSIONS OF GOVERNMENT AND REGULATED INDUSTRIES

And the technologies that support them

As with previous years, EDGE22 will release the final agenda October 1. Below are major topics against that will comprise the conference focus, and against which the Executive Roundtable and Plenary agendas are being built. Participation will be from us Federal, American state and local, partner nations, technology’s top innovators and subject-relevant SMEs

Said About Event

I have said the same thing each of the conferences 16 years – every year I think it can’t get better and every year it does.  EDGE2021 was off the charts.

Dr. Barry West

CEO, West Wing Advisory Services

What makes Edge superior is the quality of collaboration with the right people.   I am already looking forward to the next one.

Yemi B. Oshinnaiye

Deputy CIO, U.S CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES

I just wanted to thank you for inviting me to participate in EDGE2021.  It was by far the best conference I have attended in a decade.
